Steamboat Springs 2009
On August 1st and 8th, Claude will be playing at the Strings Music Festival in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The programs will include Moszkowski Suite for 2 Violins & Piano, Brahms Viola Quintet in F major (viola), and the finale of the classical series season- Dvorak Piano Quintet.

The 31-year-old violinist has been a musical rebel since childhood, someone for whom sonatas and symphonies have never been enough. Besides fronting occasional gigs at Dazzle, a local jazz club, he is a member of Extasis, a tango quartet that performs monthly at the Mercury Cafe.”

Miró Quartet

Claude will be performing Mozart Violin Concerto No. 5 with the Colorado Youth Symphony Orchestra on February 3rd, 2009, in Gates Concert Hall at Denver University. He will be stepping in for the ailing Edward Dusinberre (first violinist, Takacs Quartet). Conducting the concert will be CYSO music director Basil Vendryes.

Dave Hanson Jazz Violin Concerto
The acclaimed composer Dave Hanson has written a jazz violin concerto dedicated to Claude Sim. The piece is a vehicle for the violin, a launching pad for improvisation, and contains hints from the bebop era.
